There is an enormous contingent of senior citizens in Hell's Kitchen
with limited mobility and limited income. Stile's has been their only
local resource for affordable, quality fruits and vegetables. Please
bring Stiles back to the neighborhood!...Lynn McC.
I am angry that our neighborhood is quickly losing all the shops and services for the residents so that huge overscale buildings can take their place. Losing Stiles is the last straw. Restore Stiles immediately for all of us who depend on it...Anne D.
We need you in our neighborhood. Please let me know what we can do to help...David I.
I need Stiles!!!! ...Marty E.
I very much favor the relocation of Stiles to the Project Find Storefront. If expanded, it would be convenient to have meat/grocery/ produce/(no need for fish, given Sea Breeze) in one space. The Big Apple space is barely viable and they have raised their prices considerably since the move to this "very cramped to shop in" space--NOT commendable--so you may not want to combine with them, given their pricing attitude. Of course, everything is better than the Food Emporium. We travel by bus to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Fairway to avoid Food Emporium. I am so glad you're moving ahead on this. Count on me for support...Marion D.
We need Stiles in our community. For years, they have been they ONLY affordable source for fresh fruits and vegetables. The major grocery stores are far too expensive for the low to moderate income households in our community. Willing to volunteer....Dominic C.
The old tent always offered a fair deal on fruits, vegetables, herbs, coffee beans, breads and baked goods, eggs, juice, and more. I always enjoyed seeing the firefighters load up on huge bags of affordable produce, and would also like to add that the customers represented all income levels and ethnicities in a way that most pricier markets don't. I hope they can continue to be part of the diversity of our neighborhood. I think the old "Project Find" space would be great, or perhaps some part of the lot where the flea market sets up on weekends (not sure of the viability of that). If there's a vacant space nearby, they deserve it! ...Spencer C.
Stiles market is a go to green market for WSNA members because of its quality and affordable produce. Stiles lost its space on 9thAvenue and West 41 Street and is looking to stay open elsewhere....Richard B.
Hell's Kitchen neighborhood is in DIRE need for an affordable and extensive produce market. We NEED Stiles!..Barrett H.
We reflect on the many years of serving the community and our loyal customers. There are countless times we have made donations in the Hell's Kitchen area feeding the homeless, local churches, seniors, and during 9/11. We hope that the Port Authority will embrace our efforts to continue doing business selling quality foods at low cost. We still need to get the word out to the community, so we are continuing to hand out flyers. Thank You for all your help in trying to get a new space.
